Finally updated my website — had to commemorate the moment.
A few years back, I started building my own site because I wanted a landing page that could neatly collect my OnlyFans, Instagram, and Pornhub links for fans. Sure, there were already services like Linktree, but I didn’t like their design, and they didn’t allow me to write much. So I just made my own.
Up until today, that site was a single-page setup, literally just the homepage at babeneso.com.
That wasn’t really a problem. Thing is, I write a ton of documentation in my daily life — everything from my video editing software settings to how I set up my home Wi-Fi. It’s mainly so I won’t forget what I did when I need to tweak things later. After accumulating so much, I figured I might as well put it online for others too, which got me thinking about adding a blog.
Medium was an option, but it feels way too journalistic, and I hate serif fonts (yes, hate). Plus, you can’t customize the look. Platforms like Squarespace are just “too much”; I’d end up dragging and tweaking templates for half a day, swearing at how nothing looks right.
In the end, I decided to use SSG and build it myself. Honestly it terrified me — I don’t even know how to properly explain what npm
is. I tried learning all this a few years ago but always got overwhelmed by the sea of documentation. Now that I’ve got AI to help, finally took the leap… better write everything down before I forget again 🥹
